ABOUT US
Established in 1972, the Pauanui Surf Life Saving Club has proudly patrolled Pauanui Beach for over five decades, saving hundreds of lives and keeping our community safe.
The Club actively manages and delivers lifeguard patrols and water safety programmes throughout the summer months, with the core purpose of preventing drowning and promoting beach safety.
Through a strong commitment to its members, the Pauanui Surf Life Saving Club fosters an inclusive environment for the promotion and development of Surf Life Saving activities on Pauanui Beach for the recreation, safety and entertainment of the people using the beach.
The Pauanui Surf Life Saving Club encourages participation and achievement in all areas of Surf Life Saving, from lifeguarding and lifeguard development, to junior surf, to surf sports, and through active participation in the governance of the Club.
The Club operates as an incorporated society under the Incorporated Societies Act 2022, governed by a volunteer Board and a number of dedicated committees.
Currently, around 60 volunteer lifeguards patrol Pauanui Beach each weekend from December to February, as well as over Easter and Labour Weekends, ensuring that everyone can enjoy the beach safely.
